The aim of the study is to identify what classroom teachers think about the contributions of celebration of certain days and weeks to education value. The study employed phenomenological method, which is a qualitative research design. The participants of the study were 81 classroom teachers working at public primary education schools in downtown Afyonkarahisar during the school year of 2014-2015. The data were collected through a survey questionnaire with open-ended items. The data collected were examined using descriptive analysis technique. The findings showed that, for the participants, the celebration of certain days and weeks contribute to value education. They argued that students acquire humanitarian, national and ethical values through such activities. They stated that the most beneficiary activities are realized around the 18 March Martyrs Day and national festivals. However, for them, the activities regarding the World Cooperative Day, Europe Day, Tourism Week, and Tax Week are not significant for value education. The participants argued that the number of certain days and weeks to be celebrated in schools should be reduced and students should actively participate in such activities to maximize the acquisition of values.
