Abstract

The eagle occupied a prominent place in ancient thought and was linked to religious beliefs that were compatible with social and environmental realities.
The symbolic meanings of its vocabulary and the connotations of its images seeped into poetry, and poets adopted it as a means of expressing their life experiences and struggle for survival. It became an integral part of their mentality and beliefs, linking their fate to their own.
