Abstract

Among the movements of Urdu literature, the ProgressiveMovement is the most important and powerful movement. Its impact was
also lasting on the Urdu language and literature. A major feature of this movement is that it brought Urdu literature closer to life. At the same time,it also emphasized objectivity and social realism.
