Abstract

Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by abdominalpain, bloating, and altered bowel habits. Its chronic and relapsing nature often leads to significant impairment in qualityof life and frequent healthcare utilization. Family physicians play a pivotal role in IBS management, as they are the firstpoint of contact for most patients
