Urban development in contemporary Iranian history has caused the most damage and physical changes to the country’s historical neighborhoods. The introduction of modernity into contemporary architecture, which marked the beginning of many fundamental changes in the fields of architecture and urban planning, has led to the increasing expansion of cities. As a result, this expansion has caused the isolation, deterioration, and inefficiency of important historical neighborhoods across the country.
